Development and Goals for the Early Years

Buds & Blooms uses the Arabian Child curriculum framework for early childhood education and care. We want young children to know HOW to learn. We want them to be self-confident, inquisitive, creative and to enjoy exploring their world all at their own pace as they build good habits and attitudes.

The activities that we plan for children, the way we organize the environment, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule and talk with children are all designed to accomplish these goals and provide a foundation for future learning experiences.

  3. Language and Communication Development is the process by which your child begins to understand language and learns how to communicate. We look at your child’s:
    • Listening comprehension

    • Vocabulary
    • Phonological awareness
    • Concepts of print
    • Letter and word recognition
    • Reading comprehension
    • Emergent writing
  4. Social and Emotion Development involves the way your child feels about themselves, understands and controls their feelings and gets along with others. We look at how your child:
    • Expresses preference
    • Identifies and manages feelings
    • Follows rules and routines

    • Builds positive relationships

  5. Community Citizenship involves the way your child develops knowledge, skills and values as an informed, responsible and participative citizen of a family, classroom, community and country. We help your child to:
